Mail With A Splash

Grab your snorkel and mail that postcard. That's what happens in the world's first underwater post office located off Hideaway Island in Vanuatu. It opened in 2003 and was met with locals and tourists in awe. So... how would you mail that postcard?

When you get to the underwater post office, you will be greeted by postmasters who are certified divers. They give you waterproof postcards and a pencil to write your message underwater. Then, simply put your postcard into the underwater mailbox (of course). The diver postmasters will put a special stamp on that postcard so your recipient knows of its aquatic origin.

And to think... I just went into the local shop and bought a regular postcard. What was I thinking? I should be buying a snorkel. Send some deep sentiments from the deep blue.
