Tiny Toothed Terrors

When you think of snails, you may think of the snail moseying along at a snail's pace. But maybe now you will also think of their teeth because snails have lots of them - up to 20,000 teeth - so small that you would need a microscope to see them.

A nifty trick up their slimy sleeves, snails continuously grow new teeth to replace old ones. Those teeth come in handy to help scrape off food like leaves, algae, and soil.

Snails aren't boring - they have a lot going on under the hood. They remind us that even the tiniest creatures can have amazing adaptations.
