Our Hero Hagrid
Welcome new community members Gina and Hagrid!
This week, we introduce our new community members Gina and Hagrid. They share love and support, making everyone around them a little stronger and happier.
“Hagrid is a 3-yr old Irish Wolfhound. Hagrid joined our family with the hope that he would be able to be a therapy animal. As a family of true Harry Potter fans, we felt Hagrid was the perfect name. He is a huge, sometimes disheveled, gentle and most lovable character. Hagrid worked hard and became an AKC Certified Therapy Dog when he was 1 year old. He works with a non profit named Animal Assisted Therapy Services in Central Massachusetts. He loves going to work. He has assisted college students during finals, visited lots of nursing homes and hospitals, primary schools, as well as reading hours at libraries. We go where-ever we are needed. My day job is working full time at Elder Services of Worcester. We help keep our senior citizens living a vital and fulfilling life by providing services to them in their homes. Hagrid joins in the mission by assisting the staff by providing cuddles and love to all the staff.
Nothing beats a cold nose and warm heart when you’re having a “ruff” day at work.
When Hagrid isn’t working, his favorite place to be is on the Cape Cod beaches!! He’s a goofball and loves to run as fast as he can up and down the shoreline. Occasionally stopping to check out a crab or two.”
